The Trump administration on Tuesday rescinded a policy that would have stripped visas from international students whose courses move exclusively online amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The move comes after the policy announcement last week sparked a flurry of litigation, beginning with a suit brought by Harvard and MIT, followed by California's public colleges and later a coalition of 17 states.
Judge Allison Burroughs, a federal district judge in Boston who was expected to preside over oral arguments in the Harvard-MIT case, made the surprise announcement at the beginning of the court proceedings Tuesday.

They come here, some from 3rd world, to experience our republic. Better they actually do that if we were willing to let them in in the first place. It’s a huge bargaining chip even for North Koreans and Russians, diplomats. Clever but didn’t think that part through. Americans don’t go.

Actually its much more like pick your battles carefully.
Foreign students have no reason to be here if they can take their courses on line.
We are emptying prisons, keeping businesses closed, not allowing religious services, on and on in an effort to keep humans as distanced as possible.
We should every non citizen who doesnt need to be here home.
