The Trump administration on Tuesday rescinded a policy that would have stripped visas from international students whose courses move exclusively online amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The move comes after the policy announcement last week sparked a flurry of litigation, beginning with a suit brought by Harvard and MIT, followed by California's public colleges and later a coalition of 17 states.
Judge Allison Burroughs, a federal district judge in Boston who was expected to preside over oral arguments in the Harvard-MIT case, made the surprise announcement at the beginning of the court proceedings Tuesday.

It is fairly easy to circumvent. A university could hold a 1 credit hour class that students have to show up for. They wouldn’t even have to show up at the same time.
If you have any confidence in your country you aren't afraid of a few college students threatening your sovereignty.
We bleed to death one nick and retreat at a time.
Who cares? Go home.
But the bigger picture post COVID: Every single Chinese national should be expelled. No other reason needed.

WHY!! If totally taking on-line courses there is no need to be in the US.
why are the schools challenging this? If online classes are online, they can be accessed from anywhere. They are complicit in helping people abuse their education visas.

Because we are really talking about China here. One student will pay for the online instruction and a million others will log on with the same password and get it all for free.
That's how they roll.
How could anyone disagree with a sharp statement like that!
