My uncle gave me a “wrist rocket” (a high powered slingshot) for my birthday when I was a kid. When I shot it off the first time, my mom was horrified at how far and how fast the rock went. So she took it away and yelled at my uncle for giving it to me. I kind of wish I still had it, especially in these “uncertain times.”
I’m surprised they still make them.

There was a kid in my neighborhood who decided to shoot a slingshot at a passing car. His dad made him pay for the damage. The kid started mowing lawns and found out that he liked earning money. He eventually started buying vending machines and was able to help pay his way through private school and college. Outside of that one incident, he was a great kid. Unfortunately, he suffered from seizures that claimed his life at 21.
They still sell them at Wal-Mart. Got one. Woodpeckers.
