Damn, I checked out their website, and I'm priced out of that market. My local winery has a Reserve Cab priced at $40 a bottle, or $32 with my discount. My palette is not sophisticated enough to discern the difference.
I did a taste test with family members a few years back, using a couple of my old favorites from Germany. It was 5-0, the vote was in favor of the cheaper wine.
I was at an Aldi once where a guy in chef’s clothing for a nice local restaurant was buying cases of the $2.99 a bottle Winking Owl brand wine. Chardonnay, Pino and Cabernet.
I looked at him and said, “House wine, huh?” He gave me a big smile.
