The astute among Freepers know that this is fake news. HCQ + + may affect the heart so a test should be run before it is administered. It takes a physician to administer the test.

What is wrong with these writers? What does “ FDA stalls pullback of hydroxychloroquine warning” even mean?

I think HCQ (and probably AZM, but there are problems with antibiotic and idiots overusing them, resulting in resistant bugs) should be sold OTC, like it is in some other countries. It’s actually safer than aspirin and ibuprofen.

BUT, even if some miracle occurs and they do allow it OTC, don’t expect to find any. A few Howard Hughes types, hoarders, and specuators will empty the shelves in minutes. And then you’ll get some idiot taking the whole bottle at once and croaking. Guaranteed. Because Idiocracy isn’t a comedy movie. It’s a documentary.

They’ll have to have some kind of controls to prevent hoarding. IMO, it’s would be better allow doctors to prescribe it freely, but on an one-per-customer basis.

More astute than the over 6,000 doctors plus entire countries using this FDA approved drug on the WHO list of the world’s safest drugs?

Brazil is prescribing a combo treatment pack of hydroxy, arithro, and ivermectin by telemed or at mass walkin clinics, to treat at first symptoms and for preventive therapy by medical workers and anyone exposed. In the districts using this protocol, hospitalizations have collapsed.

Brazilian DR zoom conference, worth the watch. Treatment protocol is discussed.

It is sold OTC in various countries around the world.

But I agree with you, safest thing would just allow it to be prescribed as normal.

Hell, Starbucks coffee will cause heart problems if you drink enough of it.

No need for the test. When I was in Korea, in the 70s, hydroxychloroquine was on the mess hall tables right next to the salt and pepper. No physician administered a test. No one keeled over from taking. In fact, there was a small sign that told how many to take and how often. I know of no resulting problems.

The phenylephrine decongestant you can buy OTC has more cardio risk than HCQ.

They had to get rid of pseudoephedrine because of the War on Drugs and that has less cardio risk than phenylephrine. Another win for Team Drugs and another loss for john Q public.
