Does anyone here know if NYC or other big K-12 public school district areas around the country have plans about teachers’ pay during shutdowns?
At the start of the virus lockdowns in Feb-April, some college ones some said “Bargained for employees will receive pay on a temporary basis in accordance with contracts” and similar things. And the usual “Employees are allowed to use sick time and vacation and holiday time.”
The professors can say they are teaching online so gimme the money but no dorm workers, food service, janitorial, and many regular clerical and other workers-—as buildings including class buildings, libraries and dorms are closed as students are using online service.
So in K-12 schools would teachers get full pay sent to their direct deposit accounts each two weeks but not go to work in the schools?
I wish some conservative lawyers were start a class action lawsuit on behalf of property taxpayers, A pay a HUGE school tax and I am not getting my monies worth, I want a rebate.
