The next step, if NY is stupid enough to push this, is for Florida to cut off extradition with NY. This will be one more brick in the wall of an eventual Civil War 2, brought about by the overreach of marxist democrats.
Stone should leave the country if he can. It was insane that he was prosecuted in the first place. The US legal system is so corrupt that he’d be a fool to stay here if he has the funds to move.
