How about a (number of cases)/(number of tests) graph?

Re: “How about a (number of cases)/(number of tests) graph?

I do not have a graph, but the raw data is available.

When massive USA nation wide testing started about 10 weeks ago, about 11% of tests were positive.

That number was most likely skewed by disproportionate testing in New York and New Jersey.

About three weeks ago, the positive percentage bottomed out at 8.0%.

Since then, the percentage has slowly climbed back up to 8.2%.

In the USA, it is not clear how many antibody tests are being done, what percent of antibody tests are positive, or if those antibody tests are being included in the number of confirmed infections.

Various European cities and regions have done at least a half dozen studies on their total infection rate.

The European total infection rate has been consistently between 11% and 15%.

My guess - the USA is in the 10% to 11% range.

That would give us a Case Fatality Rate of 0.4%.

However, the COVID death count is completely fraudulent when compared to the way we count influenza and common cold deaths.

My guess - the USA COVID CFR is in the 0.2% range if we use the influenza counting method.

2018 was our worst influenza year in the last decade.

In 2018, the USA influenza CFR was 0.14%.
