Yeah — to a certain extent the street-wise Lennon didn’t suffer fools. He had that 50s tough upbringing. Then he got rich and famous and became insulated from the real world with all sorts of hanger-ons feeding his ego and feeding him crap. He also suffered from ridiculous levels of idealism.

I don’t subscribe to the view he was much of a conservative or a Christian. His later interviews show a bit of those leanings which is great. He was still growing up and finding his way and was killed before he had a chance to check out more things.

He was really all over the place. The drugs including heroin addiction didn’t help.

In a related note — I happened to be reading about his death just a few weeks ago for some reason. I didn’t realize police officer James Moran supposedly carried Lennon on his back to bring him into the hospital.

Not sure if that anecdote is really true but certainly possible — back in the day when cops were somewhat respected and not trashed every day.
