I've seen this video a while back. That stupid little twit is lucky she didn't get her back broken. As most FReepers know, those in farm country and those who live out west horses can't see very well to their rear so anything that approaches them from behind is perceived as a threat.

I'm a city boy and I know NEVER to approach a horse from
behind. Knew a girl who did many years ago. The horse let go with both legs at a full extended kick and caught this poor girl in the jaw. By the grace of God she was at the farthest extent of the horse reach but she was knocked unconscious with a broken jaw and had to have her jaw wired shut for six weeks. Any closer and the horse would have taken her head off.

Yep. One of the first things I learned when I had a horse.

I wonder if police horse training includes wheeling about on command and launching kicks if the mob gets really violent?

Horses can be deadly. A well placed kick can kill. A very good friend of ours was kicked by her horse Friday afternoon. She has a compound fracture just below the knee. Her leg was almost kicked off. She had to be life flighted and it is unknown at this time if she will lose her leg. The protester is lucky she still has a head.
