The rise in cases without increase in hospitalization or death is the GOAL off the shut-down to flatten the curve. The destination is HERD IMMUNITY.

The medical folks are 1) supplied with essentials, 2) providing the most effective treatments. As a result the death rate for most ages is LESS THAN ANNUAL FLU.

The data is getting below the criteria for epidemic.... CDC must call victory and let all the states get back to normal operations.

What is the evidence for the existence of what you are calling “herd immunity” for any human coronavirus?
