Even death statistics should be doubted until they appear in Excess Deaths. Only Excess Deaths prevent normal pneumonia being double counted.

You may be on to something. The U.S. death count as suddenly, post July 4th weekend, risen sharply.
Since it is clear that the daily infection data is being manipulated, or at least distorted, could it be we are now seeing the same thing with deaths?
And where do we find Excess Deaths data?

Excess Deaths derive from death count for the same weeks/months of 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 averaged together. The data from those years are ALL CAUSES. All causes of death. Car accidents, cancer, flu, everything.
The bad news is we have had a spike in Excess Deaths this year. It’s not all bullshit. The coronavirus is indeed killing people, and a lot of them. But that spike was mostly in the US Northeast, led by NY and NYC (that are tabulated separately). Many states have shown no Excess Deaths — for the obvious reason that they have had nearly no coronavirus deaths.
Lockdown is very clear on the graphs. Excess Deaths fell sharply, again led lower by the Northeast.
The recent upsurge in reported virus deaths has not yet been confirmed by Excess Deaths. Those are delayed. No evidence yet they are false. If Excess Deaths also spike in the next few days/weeks, then it is all real.
