Amazon is too politically correct to move out of Seattle. However that does not prevent rational people and other businessmen from leaving or never consider locating anywhere near Seattle. Real estate values, both commercial and residential, inMarxist Democrat run urban areas are declining rapidly. New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles lead the decine.
They may be but ultimately money talks even with liberals. They are ok taking and spend8ng your money but don’t mess with their money.
What has been happening in Seattle in the past is:
—The City Council comes up with a screwball “tax the rich, tax the corporations” scheme.
—They hold a big press conference to announce the plan
—Behind the scenes Amazon (and the Chamber of Commerce types) lobby behind the scenes to make the proposal go away.
—The lobbying is not given any publicity.
—The plan quietly goes away—again without any publicity.
Rinse and repeat.
But—if Amazon actually believed that a plan like that was going to get real—they would be gone in a heartbeat.
Their excuse would be that they got an incredible offer from “location x” and just couldn’t turn it down.
