I understand why the cops are holding back. It would be suicide not to. Shoot the wrong suspect, right or wrong, and your face is on the front page while people are attempting to locate and lynch you. This isn’t complex. And hesitation will only cost more cops their lives.

Lots are quitting or taking earlier retirement. My point was if ya take an oath to uphold the law then are told not to, doesn’t work for me... But it’s there choice. I would not put myself or leave myself in that type of situation. That’s just me.

That's why the ones who can, are getting out. When I took the job in Corrections, the life expectancy of a C.O. was 58. That was the age I would be after doing my 25 years. I vowed that I would not die while working for New York State, because I'd be doing them a favor. Thankfully, the Lord let me live...many did not.
