If I were purchasing the home defaced by the hideous political statement in the street, I would see a threat to my property values. I would argue I was denied my rights for public comment before the BLM message was approved. For all the residents know, the painted street may be meant to identify them for further harassment by unrestrained rioters at some future date.
Yes, they should have paid for a permit to paint their own message on the street. IF they were denied, they should have sued the city for violation of their 1st amendment rights.
The city has now established that the streets are legal places for political messages, so I think trump supports can paint ‘MAGA’ with a permit.

Let no good deed go unpunished. 600,000 Union soldiers dead or wounded is not enough! Trillions of dollars spent on poverty payments is not enough! Federal programs specific to black schools and black enterprises is not enough!
