Black Lives Matters IS systemic racism. At least, systemic when liberals use the power of government to shove their racists views down other peoples’ throats.

They can be charged with vandalism, provided the liberal vandals are also charged. Hate crime? Not hardly! And dollars to donuts no liberal vandal in the county has even been investigated!

If you read the article... that BLM logo was authorized by a legally obtained and paid for permit. But I do agree, it was no hate crime.

Some murals and statues are more equal than others.

Can one even GET A PERMIT in that county for a Blue LM or ALM mural? Just to be clear who are new civil masters are?! [Oops I just used the ‘m’ word, my bad!]

For starters, it IS infuriating. Double standard, but completely predictable.

Selective enforcement = anarcho-tyranny.

WOW! Defacing govt and private property is all okee dokee then. Good to know. If you get busted just “SAY HIS NAME” and you’ll be cut loose.

Irrelevant.

I’m sure all the statues and monuments were properly permitted as well, yet they are defaced almost completely with out any consequence, (at the state level anyway).

And certainly no one is being charged with a “Hate Crime” for it.

es, since the BLM logo was legally applied, I think the folks could be accused of vandalism. But if only certain vandals in a county or state are pursued, then the charge could be rejected based on selective prosecution. It would also require seeing how the vandalism statute is actually worded.

Or if someone simply, and carelessly, decides to transport 10 gallons of black concrete paint in the back of a trailer and happens to spill that paint on the ‘mural’.

It wouldn't be hard to put 4 spray nozzles under one's car, so you could just drive by at night and cover it.

according to the article BLM had paid for a permit to place that one the street. ... Hate to say it, but these citizens messed up.

If I were purchasing the home defaced by the hideous political statement in the street, I would see a threat to my property values. I would argue I was denied my rights for public comment before the BLM message was approved. For all the residents know, the painted street may be meant to identify them for further harassment by unrestrained rioters at some future date.

Looks more like graffiti vandalism than a “mural”.

Yes, they should have paid for a permit to paint their own message on the street. IF they were denied, they should have sued the city for violation of their 1st amendment rights.

The city has now established that the streets are legal places for political messages, so I think trump supports can paint ‘MAGA’ with a permit.

“IF they were denied, they should have sued the city for violation of their 1st amendment rights.”

At what point do words painted in the street for non-traffic purposes become a hindrance to traffic?

This may be true .......but to charge these people with a "hate crime" jumps the shark. It is not only ridiculous, but it demonstrates how hateful and racist many black officials are.

After decades of “hate-whitey” indoctrination - racism and hatred is what directs so-called progressive black AGs, judges and other officials. Sullivan comes to mind as the poster child for these types of officials.

Let no good deed go unpunished. 600,000 Union soldiers dead or wounded is not enough! Trillions of dollars spent on poverty payments is not enough! Federal programs specific to black schools and black enterprises is not enough! The fact is that white hatred and distrust is so engrained in black culture that seemingly no act or benefit will satisfy them short of displacing all white people.

You’d think painting a public thoroughfare with political sloganry might be worthy of a fine or two as well.

But this is crazy California. Run by lunatics.
