Great question...Apparently some states do cancel votes and even replace the faithless electors.

Electors meet in their states to vote. Then the state later transmits the vote to Congress. It’s not official until Congress says it is. So votes can be changed at the state level, and have been.

But it has to be a law. Can’t be done on the fly.

This is interesting info on the topic of how various states approach "faithless electors."

Apparently, some states already have laws to negate the vote and replace the naughty elector.

Misleading headline.

The court ruled (correctly) that IF a State Legislature CHOOSES, pursuant to its SOLE authority to appoint Electors for President and Vice President, to allow idiots to vote AND ALSO CHOOSES to require Electors thus chosen to vote as specified by the idiots voting method, then they can be punished if they don’t, as long as the punishment is specified by the State Legislature as part of the appointment process.

Good points...I agree, and should have told you so on the other thread...

I only read a little bit on this, but I think the USSC ruling allows states to prevent “defectors”, not just punish them, but remove them and replace them or make their vote mandatory. It is to prevent things like bribery, vote trading etc.

Martin Armstrong has forecast this election to be the most corrupt in US history, the corruption will be uncovered, how it is dealt with is unanswered.

That is good to hear. The dims have tried it for the last two times republicans have won the electoral vote but not the popular vote.

So, the Supremes say that the electors can be punished if they break their pledge.

But, does this prevent their faithlessness, or just allow states to write laws making it a misdemeanor or felony to be prosecuted after they have done so?

Even a unanimous decision leaves me with some questions.

I also have questions...The only thing I am sure of is that there will be attempts to broaden the ruling as well as to neuter it. As discussed in the link in my post #24, above, some states already have what appear to be strong laws against the hapless “unfaithful elector.”

The DNC / Hitlery campaign was trying to destroy the election and its results during the campaign and after the election. Then the phony Russian collusion (invented for her and the DNC by the sniveling mercenary liar Chris Steele) helped tip the House (and the RINO intransigence didn't help) and led to the witch hunt fake impeachment (impeachment was being called for during the 2016 campaign, after the election, and for the first half of President Trump's first of two terms). Anyway, here's a bundle of search results for "faithless" "elector" "electors" and "electoral" going back to about 2015 or until the search hits ran out.
