This is a direct result of irresponsible resistance to Trump by the deep state, democrats and especially never Trumpers. It is sending a VERY strong message to Putin who just got his constitutional amendment vote and he’s REALLY feeling his oats!!!
Same thing happened with Vietnam. The nation was split with war protesters like Lurch and Fonda that emboldened the North.
