A crowd of shouting protesters yanked down the Christopher Columbus statue near Little Italy, dragged it to the edge of Baltimore's Inner Harbor and rolled it with a splash into the water as fireworks went off around the city on the night of the Fourth of July.
Dedicated in 1984, the statue is the latest monument in the U.S. to fall this year during the national reckoning over racism and police violence that also has toppled statues of Confederate figures and enslavers around the country.....

Not if the photo is any evidence unless the “Italians” in the photo standing on the flag emigrated from Africa. The Italians in NYC kept the rioters from pulling down the Columbus statue two weeks ago.
How long will it take for the city council to order all residents of Baltimore of Italian ancestry to leave the city and confiscate their property?
The Newark Star-Ledger website in NJ turned off comments earlier this year; it was clear they were used by citizens to add “the rest of the story” to their propaganda - and they couldn’t have that.
They realized that citizens communicating online helped elect Trump, and are determined to do their part to prevent a repeat of that.
Italians in nearby Nutley NJ did the same thing a couple of weeks ago; a small band of ferals from Newark make their way a couple of towns northward protesting the statue there, but the cops and locals saw that it wasn’t touched.
It probably helped that many of the Italians that live in the towns north of Newark are the children and grandchildren of those chased out after the Newark Simba riots of the 1960s.
Taxpayers have to boycott these feral nests (if they don’t already); I live between two (Jersey City and Newark NJ), and can’t remember the last time I spent a penny in either.
My town actually reaps the redistributed taxpayer monies from them because they are food deserts - they come into my town to shop in our supermarkets.
