The sins of ancestors are not to be visited upon their descendants.
My ancestors were too busy trying to scratch out a living in a field full of rocks on top of a mountain in the Appalachians to exercise their white privilege. The only white privilege my Indian great grandmothers got was marrying white men.

Even for the highest crime in the Constitution, the Framers knew that punishing the descendants for the crimes of their ancestors was wrong.

To condemn someone as guilty who needs to pay penance because they are white is the essence of racism. It is also the logical fallacy of composition which infers that something is true of the whole from the fact that it is true of some part of the whole (or even of every proper part). This is a fallacy because not everything that is true about every part of an object is necessarily true of the whole, much less about the entire class that the object is part of. Composition assumes that, because some black people are victims of racism or other oppression, all black people are victims of racism or other oppression. The fact is, there are many who are not. In terms of American history, they assume all black people are descended from American slaves, when in fact many are not.
My dad didn’t come here until after the Japanese concentration camp in.............wait for it-—China. He came in about 1946 after WW2, he was a high school student.
Plenty of blacks owned slaves here, too. Let's find their descendants.
