Its becoming a trend to charge people who defend themselves. The goal is to make people afraid to exercise their rights and in some cases a conviction will take away their rights.
People need to fight this is court and the court of public opinion.
We are losing and Free Republic is an echo chamber of liked minded people. Just because you like the comment you read here, dose not mean its representative of the majority.
Yet the delusional among us seem to think that once SHTF and the citizenry is forced to defend against the mobs that the police will stand on the right of the average citizen.....
It does seem to be their final solution -> you have the right to bear arms but you’ll lose your liberty if you exercise it defending yourself.
This is all going to end very badly.
