This is old news.

The back story is he was angered by the town’s health system administrator for not heeding his warning to push the town’s administrator to shut down the schools and synagogues early in the pandemic. As a result 14 people died from COVID-19.

Dr. Zelenko blamed them for the deaths. A heated spat followed.

MD’s today will tell you that medical administrators focus on the bottom line rather than health. As a result MD’s are treated like hired help rather than as patient advocates.

What Dr. Zelenko went through is commonplace in today’s medical business. Doctors are liable, medical administrators are not. That needs to change.

Friends I know in the surrounding community who are non Hasidim owes this man a debt of gratitude. The Hasidim community is secretive. They would have never known the severity of the infected in thier area if it weren’t for him. The Hasidim frequent many shopping areas and businesses in non Hasidim communities surrounding theirs. At the height of the pandemic they were not social distancing and not wearing masks at schools, synagogues and while in surrounding communities. Weeks after they were told to close down the schools (all other school where closed for weeks) the kids were seen at the schools and none were protected. So they were not concerned about anyone else let alone themselves. The grand rebi said its ok no problem and this is what the adhere to.
