Trying to win a political argument by attacking the science behind wearing a face covering only hurts your own position.

You have drank about ten gallons of leftist Koo-laid on this one. There is NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE THAT WEARING A PIECE OF THIN FABRIC OVER YOUR FACE PREVENTS OR EVEN LESSONS THE CHANCE OF TRANSMISSION OF COVID-19 FROM AN INFECTED PERSON. NONE, ABSOLUTELY NONE. All we have are unsupported “models” based on unproven assumptions. “SCIENCE” and has become a meaningless political term when used by leftists. I suggest that you try to find an actual study not relying on models to support the belief that has been stamped into you by the mainstream media and political activists.

Correct. Some links to back up your claim:

https://apps.who.int/iris/rest/bitstreams/1279750/retrieve

“At present, there is no direct evidence (from studies on COVID-19 and in healthy people in the community) on the effectiveness of universal masking of healthy people in the community to prevent infection with respiratory viruses, including COVID-19.”

And

“At the present time, the widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence and there are potential benefits and harms to consider...”

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp2006372

“It is also clear that masks serve symbolic roles. Masks are not only tools, they are also talismans that may help increase health care workers’ perceived sense of safety, well-being, and trust in their hospitals. Although such reactions may not be strictly logical, we are all subject to fear and anxiety, especially during times of crisis. One might argue that fear and anxiety are better countered with data and education than with a marginally beneficial mask, particularly in light of the worldwide mask shortage, but it is difficult to get clinicians to hear this message in the heat of the current crisis. Expanded masking protocols’ greatest contribution may be to reduce the transmission of anxiety, over and above whatever role they may play in reducing transmission of Covid-19. The potential value of universal masking in giving health care workers the confidence to absorb and implement the more foundational infection-prevention practices described above may be its greatest contribution.”

Good grief, you don't need a "study" to understand basic science. Even a dope like you should be able to understand this stuff.

Now go hump someone else's leg, I've got barbecue to attend to.
