Why take away Columbus Day? This is just a symbol of removing a celebration of America. Also the TIMING is bad for GOP. They are totally caving and capitulating to the mob. There are MANY great days throughout the history of this country, we can’t have a paid Holiday for all of them, and considering this was never mentioned before now, even by the first black President the GOP look weak af. They are extremely out of touch with the sentiment of their base. Don’t they even have a GUT instinct about what frustration people are feeling out here with the mob rule BS??

That is caving. They shouldn’t do it.

But I believe it is possible to turn this on the left. Champion Emancipation Day. Who did the slaves owe their freedom to, Republicans or democrats? It was democrats who stood in the school house door and the first President to open that door was Eisenhower, a Republican.
