I see he smuggled in some anti-rightwing nonsense. Claiming that reactionaries who want to go back to a specific time where specific values used to be held is akin to nihilism which believes in no values is utter bull hooey.

Are we all supposed to just stand by like good centrists and watch everything go up in flames? Perhaps by nihilism he means anyone who believes in anything but the values he holds, and perhaps his values are the neocon ones that unsettled the Middle East with no net value to the US.
