Just think of all the work it took to make that display.
All the measuring, drilling, filling and climbing for a spectacular piece of art. I think the original sculptor was succeeded by two later generations of artists in the same family.
Obviously, this was not a family with any fear of heights.
Can’t recall if this was done on commission, or just for the fame of it all. Every real artist wishes to leave their mark on this material world for as long as possible.

While there I learned how the chislers knew where to chisel on that rock face. Pretty simple method that I probably would have never thought of.
