Up until now Zuck has refused to give in to the pressure so they're going all out now. If you read the news on this topic you'll find lots of left wing businesses are leaving FB because Zuck won't ban Trump and Conservatives.

FB provides the ability to influence the ads one sees. 75% of the time, the ads were relevant in my experience. There’s also the ability to mute idiotic “friends” for a month. So with the related metrics, FB has the ability to provide targeted ad revenue and determine who’s really paying the bills.
I’m guessing FB is catering to an older crowd these days. Makes sense for Zuckerberg to ignore the intolerant, hateful activists.
