That assumes they are lucky enough to actually get the unemployment benefits...
As with the stimulus, everyone will get what they are owed; I sympathize with them, but I can’t exaggerate what this has done to the economy here. For years this state has chased out real jobs, and replaced them with a post-manufacturing, post-service economy based on entertainment - and those jobs are the most vulnerable to this virus.
Everyone I know is still getting paid while working from home, but it is an older demographic that still had some of the “real” white-collar jobs left here. Younger people and the foreigners we’ve imported here as a working underclass are screwed - and the illegal ones (rightfully) can’t get unemployment.
