What's interesting is that Roberts based his ruling today on a 2016 ruling in which he was on the losing side. He claimed that the ruling in 2016, which he did not agree with, created a precedent which he must now follow, even though he didn't agree with the original ruling.

The man is a coward. He picks and chooses which precedents he will follow, and invariably chooses the ones which will hurt the conservative cause.
