What makes this “better” than just using a regular rifle?
You still need bullets, and bullets with gunpowder are cheap, and the technology is well-known.
Do rail guns shoot a lot faster, or more accurately?

That seems stupid. The entire challenge of a railgun is in creating the field.
The rest of it is something you can build in your basement.
So if they haven’t solved that problem, the only reason they are the “leaders” in this is because nobody else is stupid enough to be wasting time on it.

Yeah I bet the battery is just good for one shot, because Chinese batteries are just awful. It’s essentially a one-shot high-tech musket.
