This has been reported in most news outlets. And I’m sorry but the idea that people on this forum are taking the word of Vladimir Putin and the Taliban at face value is shocking. Seriously. WTF is going on around here? Did someone spike the water at FR with acid? Ah, are you seriously saying the NYTimes has more credibility than either Putin or the Taliban? It's not just the Times. It's being reported in almost every major news outlet, including some from overseas. US and allied intelligence sources are being cited. And YES, the NY Times, flawed though they may be, are vastly more reliable than both Putin and the Taliban. If you are prepared to take the word of these enemies of the United States at face value, then that raises a whole host of questions. Starting with who do you work for? Is it the FSB or the GRU?
