I was born there, lived on 69th street.....huge Lithuanian and Polish population.....by 1964-65 the unrest started and by the early 70’s everyone moved out to the suburbs, us outside of Berwyn Bellwood....today the shootings,robberies and unrest are now happening there to. I never did see any white supremacy, only white flight.
it was amazing how quickly Bellwood turned. Close in West burbs have lots of problems.
