Looking for a way to feel good about yourself today? How about re-naming a part of your house so that it stops oppressing the peoples of the world?
Thats what homebuilders are starting to do here in D.C., according to Baltimore Business Journal.
The master suite is being phased out not from our homes, but from our lexicon.

I guess these idiots have no idea that the term “master” in reference to property predates slavery by centuries. It was simply a term that denoted ownership. So if you owned a house, you were the “master” of the abode and your bedroom was therefore the “master bedroom”. It was used in pretty much any ownership situation, so if you owned a fishing boat, you were the “master” of the boat, if you owned a horse and buggy, you were a carriage master etc.
Racist, sexist master bedroom no longer politically correct

The PC police are at it again. In the continuing endeavor to rid the English vernacular of anything that could be offensive, the term master bedroom is being phased out of use in residential real estate, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
Instead, builders are starting to use the term owners suite or owners bedroom to describe the largest bedroom in a home. A survey found that six out of 10 major Washington, D.C.-area homebuilders are making the change on their floor plans.
The reason given is that master is seen as offensive on two fronts: in gender, where it tends to sound masculine, and in race, where it conjures images of the slave-master.

Will academia denounce the Masters degree, even when it describes mastery of a subject?
*************
And if so will they re-word and reissue all past degrees awarded to students?

This is the garbage that happens when too many people have too much time on their hands.
Absolutely right! Ive said many times that these are all the signs of a frivolous, decadent, indolent, and unserious society. There is way too much welfare and unemployment paid to these agitators which provides them the free time to do evil. This is the garbage that happens when too many people have too much time on their hands.
People did not have the time or money to indulge in such horse crap during periods of crisis like the world wars or the Great Depression. Fighting for your very survival has a way of making people deadly serious and focusing on what is important.
Oh, dear...’Master’ is all over the place in the Holy Bible.
Owner’s Retreat - believe I’ve already heard this used.
Well, I guess a certain company that makes padlocks has some decisions to make.
What’s the new name? Massah Bedrooms?
Ive always called the master bedroom in my house the main bedroom - because theres no master in this house! Seriously, political correctness has been around since 1980 or so its now ingrained in most people younger than that.
I heard the term “Owner’s Retreat” like 20 years ago.
Of course that will go away too, since “Owner” is a no-no.
From https://www.etymonline.com/word/master
The history of the word, Master:
late Old English mægester “a man having control or authority over a place; a teacher or tutor of children,” from Latin magister (n.) “chief, head, director, teacher” (source of Old French maistre, French maître, Spanish and Italian maestro, Portuguese mestre, Dutch meester, German Meister), contrastive adjective (”he who is greater”) from magis (adv.) “more,” from PIE *mag-yos-, comparative of root *meg- “great.” The form was influenced in Middle English by Old French cognate maistre.
From late 12c. as “man eminently or perfectly skilled in something,” also “one who is chief teacher of another (in religion, philosophy, etc.), religious instructor, spiritual guide.” Sense of “master workman or craftsman, workman who is qualified to teach apprentices and carry on a trade on his own account” is from c. 1300.
The meaning “one charged with the care, direction, oversight, and control of some office, business, etc.” is from mid-13c.; specifically as “official custodian of certain animals kept for sport” early 15c. (maister of þe herte houndes; the phrase master of the hounds is attested by 1708). As a title of the head or presiding officer of an institution, late 14c.; as “captain of a merchant vessel” early 14c.

I think they should change the term from master bedroom to the Sambo bedroom.
I have to replace the submissive cylinder for my brakes on my pickup. The dominatrix cylinder was losing fluid and I’ve isolated it to one of the submissive cylinders.
