Austin and Houston are separated by dozens of miles. It’s good that they’re making preparations. Better to have too many beds than too few. But I recall having read that Houston did something similar previously and then dismantled it, when new cases nosedived. It may do it again this time around. I suspect, however, that the numbers will be far fewer in this round. The reason being that many of the infected are likely to be young demonstrators, most of whom will have fewer problems than the aged. Also, in the previous cycle, people waited until they were at death’s door to be tested. Today, people with sniffles or a scratchy throat are shuffling forward to be looked at.
