SEATTLE As the city tries to wind down the so-called Capitol Hill Occupied Protest zone, the city and Mayor Jenny Durkan were hit this week with a second lawsuit that seeks to hold her and other municipal leaders accountable for the situation that has unfolded inside the neighborhood.
The nine-page lawsuit was filed Thursday by plaintiffs Jacob Bozeman, an attorney, and Austin Bozeman and names Durkan, Gov. Jay Inslee, the city of Seattle and Washington state as defendants who "did allow, aid, abet, and actively facilitate, the exclusive physical occupation, takeover and control of an approximate six city block area of publicly owned real property of an American city, Seattle, Washington, by an un-elected, unauthorized, and violent group of citizens promoting a political special interest group."
The federal filing comes on the heels of a class-action lawsuit filed two days ago by over a dozen Capitol Hill businesses who have also been angered by how the city has responded to the protest effort in the neighborhood.

Equal protection?
While it is certain to be slow walked, the outcome is indisputable.
But the key is, just which governmental entity will enforce the Judge's order?
It must be the State of Washington.
The mayor is fully responsible, criminally, for all the crime that took place in the occupied zone.
Absolute immunity.
The Anarchists still occupy that Zone despite the Mayor’s so called move to displace them. She doesn’t want to use force, but has she ever thought about cutting off utilities and disrupting the Cell Phones in that zone?
The mayor and the City Council are responsible—criminal conspiracy—RICO.
They have Absolute Immunity.
In my long life there is one thing I have learned about the law—you never know what it really means until it is tested in the courts.
Sue, prosecute, sue, prosecute—throw enough stuff at the wall and some of it will stick.
You are right--as usual.
A bad precedent for a sympathetic case could potentially make the country ungovernable.
The people who took over this part of the city need to be prosecuted, sued, and made an example of, and the mayor needs to be recalled.
The county?
It should run..Individual, Family, County/City then State, then Region, then Federal?
This CHOP zone thing seemed like a thinly veiled scheme to secure a legal precedent that would be useful to the Democrats later against Republican jurisdictions, likely over 2nd amendment repeal or something similar. The question for me is how could this be used against people resisting leftists?
Neither a mayor nor the city have absolute or sovereign immunity. Only a state has sovereign immunity.
The attorney who filed this lawsuit knows that.
Second lawsuit filed against Seattle, aka Chop Chop.
IMHO the outcome of the suits is totally dependent upon the political beliefs of the judges involved. Especially in the federal system. And anyone who thinks our justice department is going to hold the commies accountable is dead wrong. If President Trump is not re-elected all legal activity against the communists will stop dead. If President Trump is re-elected then federal judges will protect the communists.
Both suits are Federal for violation of Federal civil rights laws.
I'll do you one better. The voters got exactly what they voted for. I blame the clueless voters.
