The Simpsons wont have any repeats of Hank Azaria voicing Apu.
The producers behind the show issued a statement Friday saying that from now on, its characters of color will be voiced by actors of color only.
Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters, the statement read.
News of the decision comes less than an hour after Mike Henry announced he will no longer voice the character of Cleveland Brown on fellow Fox animated comedy Family Guy.

If South Park caves then it is the end of civilization as we know it.
The Simpsons have sucked for the last decade at least, if not much longer. Nobody cares what they do anymore. They went into the sh*tter a long time ago.
POLL: Should we destroy all past episodes? Or should we have them revoiced by actors of color?
Bugs Bunny,
Old Timey.
We could burn all past episodes... throw in a few books while we’re at it...

BTW actors are doing roles written by others and are not really the characters they portray so they should all lose their jobs unless they are really rogue cops or crusading lawyers or doctors who are detectives on the side etc etc etc.
It will get worse.
Apu appears to be a Dravidian, a dark skinned South Indian. So the next evolution of this parsing of voice over roles will be prohibiting an Aryan, a light skinned North Indian, from voicing him. And certainly not a Kashmiri or a Bangala.
More generally, producers will have to pin down where their non-white characters come from. Will a young Chinese character be from mainland China, Taiwan (no, that place doesn’t exist), Hong Kong or is he or she US-born? If US-born, does their English reflect they went to CalTech or Harvard? (Because they are all wickedly smart.)
Is the actor/actress portraying the Hispanic properly vetted to ensure their accent reflects the specific origin of the character? Ditto for black actors; island characters require island origins to speak with an authentic accent. Can’t have a Barbadian attempting to pass for a Jamaican. And certainly not a white Jamaican trying to voice a black Jamaican part - even though the patois is the same.
Of course, this also could be applied to white actors. Well, no. Whites in the US (and more generally) are all inherent racists and everybody knows racists speak with the uneducated grammar and accent of either the Midwest or South. Yes, except for “Ally” whites. They, on the other hand, are all educated and come from the Northeast or Northwest. Or, better yet, Canada. No taint of slavery on them if they are from the woke liberal north.
It will become pointless for actors to study accents because everyone will be typecast according to their race. Everyone must stay in their race lane. That’s the way to eliminate racism.
When you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind.
Do not expect leaders, Hollywood, Broadway, politicians, etc., to lead on this one. Their spines have been removed.
Having voices at all is unfair to the deaf. We can all learn ASL and all our media can be silent with all dialogue in ASL, but that’s fair because the deaf can never hear.
While we’re at it, seeing people walk around on two legs must be a bummer for people confined to wheelchairs. We can make wheelchairs for everyone! Trump can invoke the Defense Make-Whatever-POTUS-Wants Act and force Tesla to make millions of self-driving wheelchairs. With batteries that only occasionally incinerate the occupant.
I cant remember...
No, it just means they’ll need Ralph Northam and Justin Trudeau to play the roles.
I thot most of the characters were kinda pink with a brown mouth area.
Just because the producers of "The Simpsons" are acting stupidly why should the producers of "Hamilton" do the same?
There goes the food network.
I’m sure it is just a coincidence that this will be their last season
