Then with money for the glorious cause of racial justice the company will not face the 24/7 media stories of "white supremacists condoned by the top leaders there" and "blacks treated like slaves at the company" while demonstrators are bussed in to yell with bullhorns in front.

Apparently, not all ducks are equal. Had our enterprising businessman at least adopted some kind of shtick like an action network, a rainbow coalition, or been a much loved contributor to CNN his odds of success might have improved.
Avenatti would have probably skated, but he tried to expand his business too fast and he attempted a “partnership” with someone much bigger than him (Nike).
