“No. Hell no. Use a FRICKIN card or your smartphone!”

If I recall Walmart was investigating a system where people would be chipped and would simply walk into the store, select merchandize and walk out. Their account would be debited. (Unlike now when people walk into the store, select merchandize and walk out with it without paying for it.) I can see some problems. Suppose you buy an entire outfit, Then, a day later, you walk in wearing it and then get charged for it again when you leave. Also, they probably won’t think about how crooks will be able to read your chip and spoof it to charge you for things they took.

General Dynamics introduced a chip in their badges. The website for the seller said they would provide complete reports on where people where and how much time they spent in the smoking areas and bathrooms. The company said it wouldn’t use those reports. Then, my boss asked me why I spent so much time in the bathroom. (He had a printout on his desk.) I said, “I have benign prostate hyperplasia. Would you like a note from my doctor?” So, obviously they used the reports.

GD also sent around “anonymous” surveys. Then, our boss asked an employee why he hadn’t returned it yet. The employee said, “You don’t know what anonymous means, do you?”

So, yeah, I don’t trust companies or government not to misuse a tool they have.
