I think deep down many believe the Democrats will continue to do their shenanigans as long as Trump is in office, but once he’s gone it will be back to ‘business as usual’.
That’s basically what the Democrats are doing, holding the country hostage and acting up when they don’t get their way, so people will acquiesce.
Sadly, I think it’s working.
And mind you, plenty of Repuke politicians want Trump gone as much as the Democrats.

IMO, your analysis is 100% correct. It’s the age-old violent anarchist stratagem — give us what we demand and you’ll have peace.
This time it is different because they are demanding then destruction of all Western Civilization. I pray to God there is a line in the sand the electorate will not cross. But I’m not hopeful.
It is so pitiful that people can think that unleashing anarchy on the land would lead to peace.
A couple of elections ago, some conservatives took on the Wake County school district here in NC. They ran on a platform of ending forced-bussing and other liberal idiocies... and won!
Immediately, the Left started a campaign of "moral Monday" sit-ins and everything in the Press was about the "controversial" school board.
They ended the forced bussing and some other programs as well. Things improved... but the controversy continued. The DNC announced that this was their number one target for the next election... it's the second-largest school district in the country. It's dangerous to show success away from their ideas.
All of this led right up to the next election when the Press announced that test scores, graduation rates, and other measures continue to drop statewide. It was true, with one exception; Wake County.
We were the one bright part of the State. It didn't matter. People were tired of the controversy and it didn't seem to make any difference... because the Press said it didn't. The next election things "went back to normal." The Left retook the school board and Leftist ideas returned. It was no longer controversial... nor beneficial.
This is the plan with Trump. Life under Trump is too stressful... we should return to peace and calm under the socialists... otherwise the socialists will burn it all down.
We have a winner. I’ve heard ‘soft’ women Trump voters who have said just that. They don’t love Trump, but voted for him and like what he’s done with the economy. But they are tired of the 3+ years of turmoil and think if Trump’s off the stage it will all end. They see Biden as a safe nothing/nobody candidate whose election will stop the madness.
