I saw they are starting a public test, of a vaccine, in South Africa, right now.

Go for it. No harm in trying. I’ve been seeing articles saying a vaccine is around the corner from a lot of places. I wonder how long it will be before even the preliminary results are in. How long does it provide immunity from SARS-COV-2? There are a lot of variables, so we will see.

I hope they do find a safe and effective vaccine soon. I’m just not relying on one before I decide to pursue my “before lockdown” life. I know my choice isn’t for everyone. I have family and friends so scared that they are in hiding and have been for nearly 3-1/2 months. They haven’t set foot in even their grocery stores, yet they complain about the quality of the produce that is selected for them.

I have a nephew who hasn’t been out of his house all this time until recently, because he believes everything he sees on the TV news. For his first ever time out of the house, he agreed to go to a bar for a bachelor party for one of his dearest friends who is getting married tomorrow. Unfortunately, my nephew is out of the wedding party, because he came down with a sore throat 4 days after the bar event. He tested positive for CoVid 19. He’s had a run of aches and chills, minor cough, no fever, and seems to be doing ok still.

He did everything Fauci told him to do. He stayed inside his air conditioned home for months on end, only going outside to check the mail, or to take an occasional walk through the neighborhood just the past couple of weeks. I’m presuming he didn’t wear a mask at the bar, but I suspect he tried to maintain distancing as best as he could.

I wonder if staying inside all this time has depleted his immune system to a degree. He doesn’t have a bad case of this, but he did have enough viral load to test positive for it. Since he has no fever, I guess he will have to take at least two more tests to see if it has finished running its course through him.
