We are seeing jurisdictions everywhere imposing mask bans at a rate that approaches the number of bars being threatened with liquor license revocation for failing to enforce social distancing. If that sentence seems complicated, then you are beginning to appreciate just how confusing all the arguments are about face coverings. After all, we have N95s, surgical masks, homemade cloth masks .. and the classic train robber bandana. Just for good measure, as I wore my cup-style dust mask on my last pass through Costco, I saw staff members wearing required face coverings that came from lathe section at Woodcraft.
It should be intuitively obvious to the most casual observer that these masks are not all identical in their intended use and possible function against viruses. .. The bandana blocks the good guys from seeing who the bad guy is. In both cases, breathing around them is very easy, and aerosols aren't blocked.

I thought it was the other way around.
I have talked to many of the guys and strongly suspect that most of us had a milder form of Wuhan in early March for which no one went to the emergency room and only one or two went to the doctor. I am betting the whole crew is beneficiary of "herd immunity." I know that I had it then along with all my family and because I didn't suspect then, I kept working without a break. SIL recently got tested for his job and is positive for antibodies. That means that the discomfort and coughs and headaches we all felt were likely Wuhan.
Last week in Cabelas, I was told I had to wear a mask in order to shop. The employee was wearing a mask under his chin because it was hard to breathe. Two other employees also had their masks below their mouth.
Makes perfect sense. Animal Farm wise. So I put on my “UNDER DURESS” mask. Then, I walked away and put my mask under my chin.
I have to wear a mask at work and I have to lift it every little bit to get a deep breath.
And it has revealed far too many GOP state and local office-holders to be something very different than they pretend to be.
Freedom? No, you are simply rationalizing that masks don't do anything. But they do, the evidence shows masks work (beauty parlor vs church choir). If you don't want to wear one, then fine, don't. I don't care. But if you do wear one you will be reducing the chance of spread.
It keeps your germs from going to others. They do not protect you from getting it from someone else. Nice huh?
Nobody can prove anything. Science looks at evidence. Church choir: large room, no touching, lots of spacing, no masks, 80 - 90% infection spread. Beauty parlor, most had masks, talking (although not singing which is worse for spread), previously infected people, but no spread. You can look at evidence or you can ignore it. It's up to you.

The bottom line is that if you are not sick, you should not wear a face mask. .

They must work though. All those protesters and nobody is getting it. That’s incredible. I thought we’d get millions just by them. We’re getting them from bars, restaurants and beaches where no masks are worn. Masks I guess work at least for protesting. I have no idea why.
Are you aware of the increase in testing of late? Sure seems like more tests might mean more (perhaps asymptomatic) cases would be reported...
How about the report of Maryland? adding 1,793 deaths in one day to their total? That was the result of reclassifying “probable” deaths as caused by the Kung flu. No autopsies, just the pronouncement of a politician.
Wear all the masks you want to and feel whatever it is you need to feel. You (and politicians) are not going to force me to partake of the panic.
I spend time in the yard and in the garden. UV is my friend.
I am 71 years old and had the Kung flu in January. I am pretty sure I survived.

Wear a mask or not. You are free to do whatever makes you feel good. I honestly don’t care.
I look to where they have this thing under some control. They wear masks, wash their hands, and social distance. I choose to look at that and make a decision. You are free to chose differently. I would never shame you to do what I do.
Were they to ever come up with a vaccine, I would resist it to the end. This whole episode has been about propaganda and cowing people into submission.
As far as I know, no one has died from COVID as a result of a leftist street protest.
They are the visible symbol that the wearer has agreed to adopt sheep-hood.
This is exactly how I feel. Most mask wearers don’t even wear mask correctly; on crooked, across their beard, constantly “readjusting”, off and on, off and on. Sheep pure and simple. “look at me I’m part of the solution” they scream out. He I’m doing my part just like CNN told me to. And then they have the audacity to “shame” me. Why should I pay for your fear. If you’re that afraid, STAY HOME.
Most of these mouth breathers are now the second wave. They have NO IMMUNITY, been hiding at home for months, and now a simple cold will knock them out. Don’t tell me this isn’t planned.
Covid will continue until Nov 3.
