U.S. President Donald Trump praised what he described as a powerful and comprehensive wall along the nations southern border Tuesday, highlighting one of the key promises from his successful election campaign four years ago to secure the U.S. borders.
A day after ordering tighter restrictions on a variety of visa categories, Trump visited a new section of the border wall in the southwestern U.S. state of Arizona. After signing a plaque on the imposing slatted black wall at San Luis, the president, in response to a question from VOA described the new construction as really foolproof.
You have everything you could have. Its what they wanted, and thats what we did, he added...
"Our border has never been more secure," Trump said at the event, also attended by elected local officials and community leaders. This is the most powerful and comprehensive border wall structure anywhere in the world."
The new wall is in many places twice as tall as where it was before, and many miles were built where nothing but vehicle barriers existed before, which few people would describe as a fence...
Trump, who is seeking re-election in November, said on Tuesday as much as 500 miles (nearly 760 km) of border wall could be completed by the end of the year.

If the Boss says he wants his Wall black, he is going to get some black wall. It is now going in black, in at least two places in Arizona - here around Yuma, and and East of the Tohon O'Odham Nation Reservation. Previously, the first segment completed during the Tump Administration, in Calexico, CA, got a black coating of some type.
What do you think? Black or Rust?
Why do I have a fear that a President Biden would tear it down?
It would be a big, expensive job to tear down.
They would likely just open the gates with liberal policies, and punch out a few gaps for show.
Somebody notify Ann Coulter. Although she seems to need medication at this point.
An engineer here on Free Republic estimated black paint instead of light brown might raise the temperature by another 30 degrees F.
I love that idea!
Wouldn’t black make it even hotter and more difficult to climb?
After baking in 100 degree sun all day, I doubt it matters what color it is. You wouldnt be touching it without asbestos gloves.
Beat me to it. I was wondering if Coulter will finally stop her whining. I doubt it. She is a #NeverTrumper at this point. Perhaps she always was. Book sales must be dismal.
Excellent plan!
Why do you have a fear that a President Biden would tear it down, you ask? It’s because Joe Kennedy III promised/threatened the President, “Build a wall and my generation will tear it down.”
I know what all the President has been beset with, whom he has had to work with, what hoaxes he has had to work around, etc. and I’m not a fan of Coulter. Still, it will have been 4 years on Jan. 20, 2021.
I think that it might get somewhat hotter, on hot sunny days. The Southern Border is about the best place in the country for solar panels, because they get so much sunshine.
They are studying different coatings, for cost and effects - like longer service life, heat, slipperyness.
That’s one tall wall.
The steel is Kortan. Originally developed by US Steel, it oxidizes and prevent rust for 80 years. The same steel that is in 20 to 40 ft ocean containers stacked up in ports and freight ships.
Even better when the concertina gets on top...
Those 30 footers are tall enough to kill those who fall. About half who fall from 30 feet will die from it - the rest are crippled or maimed. Most of those who contributed to that statistic were probably working men, like roofers, linesmen or tree trimmers. The general population would likely fare worse.
In reality, the general population will just not even try those tall bollards.
This border wall system is generally alarmed and monitored to detect attempts at tunneling, breaching (like sawing), or climbing.
