He must do a lot of dot-matrix printing. He has it very handy there, to the point of being annoying.
And look at those boxes of 5 1/2-inch floppies on either side of his machine. This guy is loaded for bear.
Nowadays your TV remote probably outdoes all the stuff in that picture as far as computing power. But he was a pioneer.
