If you were watching MSNBC last Sunday, you may have seen Imani Perry, professor of African-American studies at Princeton University, and wondered, as I did, Why do I know that name?
Professor Perrys delightfully original point was that we need to think in serious contemplative ways about the depth of American inequality.
So perhaps we know her from her incisive commentary! I certainly havent heard anyone talk about American inequality. It really made me think.
But then I suddenly realized its that Imani Perry! The one who nearly destroyed a policemans life by falsely accusing him of racism!
Back in February 2016, Perry launched a series of tweets, alleging the following:
She was arrested in Princeton Township for a single parking ticket three years ago.
She was cuffed FOR A PARKING TICKET and not allowed to make a phone call so that someone would know where I was.
I was afraid, she wrote. Many women who look like me have a much more frightening end to such arrests.

Professor Perry....
Oh goody.
Ann, the two faced, Country Club, Bar Wench who can’t hold her liquor is back...
One nasty curr....
I don’t think it’s the color.
I think it’s the bitch-look.
You are in deep doo doo now Ann! You are snidely implying that there might be more to the St. Floyd story, something exonerating to the Raciss Cop.
Shame..
Looks like a fun date...
High on the “crazy” axis, low on the “hot” axis. Only masochists and people who look like the elephant man need apply.
Btt
But she has a great sense of humor!
Well, not so much exonerating but definitely maybe a mike picking up some dialog between the two of them “discussing” how they work security at the same club suspected of being a front for money laundering and counterfeiting and what are you doing trying to pass a counterfeit bill, George? Hmm? That kind of thing could get us both in trouble ...
Something like that.
That head scarf is a little too Aunt-Jemimy
They discussed that George FLoyd was suffering from ExDS,
The officers were recorded on their body cams assessing George Floyd as suffering from “excited delirium syndrome” (ExDS), a condition which the MPD considers an extreme threat to both the officers and the suspect. A white paper used by the MPD acknowledges that ExDS suspects may die irrespective of force involved. The officers’ response to this situation was in line with MPD guidelines for ExDS. Restraining the suspect on his or her abdomen (prone restraint) is a common tactic in ExDS situations, and the white paper used by the MPD instructs the officers to control the suspect until paramedics arrive.
They were, in other words, complying with MPD policy.
There’s a reason that the body cam footage hasn’t leaked, and it’s not because it makes the officers look bad, or confirms any of the tin-foil hat conspiracy theories floated around FR.
There’s a good chance that good defense counsel will be able to show that Chauvin was aware of the white paper and was acting in accordance with MPD policy and his training if ExDS is suspected. And he’s on tape stating that was exactly his concern.
The jury will get to see the facts, the only question is, will they follow them to a just verdict, wherever they lead?
Worse than Rodney King; worse than Trayvon Martin; worse than Michael Brown; Worse than Fredy Gray.
From the very start, 99% of commentators through due process, the rule of law, and innocent until proven guilty out the window.
The people on the left keep claiming all of those stories show systematic racism, long after the narratives that drove them have been conclusively proved false.
