Fu## NASCAR. I was a fan for years. After being bored to death the last several seasons....I discovered local small tracks Dirt Racing. So much more exciting. You can see 10 races in one night. Lots of different classes. Short 10 to 30 lap races. Don’t count the yellow laps. The big feature will be maybe 50 laps. 1000 HP cars on a 3/8 mile track. So much more fun and exciting.
Back in the 80s, a couple of my dad’s friends were into weekend dirt track racing.
One was an absolute ace driver. The other was the best mechanic around.
They were hated since they were constantly winning. These guys were some of nicest fellows in my town.
The car would be torn down, inspected, reinspected to the Nth degree. All legal and legit.
After a few years, the driver started to have medical problems so there ended the saga.
