He has been rock solid on COVID-19, doing things like overturning onerous regs promulgated by counties etc UNTIL THIS WEEK.
Out of the blue he said he will lock the state down if he has to, then starts talking up concerns about positive tests, etc.
Abbot is now whipping up the COVID-19 frenzy.
What does bother me about this is that is shows a lack of understanding of reality from Abbott. Most of the increase is the testing and the risk one faces if you are outside is minimal. Abbott is edgeing toward the possibility of another lock-down. This would have a catastrophic effect and solves nothing. Mail voting is the DNC goal and Abbott’s sky is falling attitude will feed the beast.
No kidding. Texas is DONE with this, nobody is going back to hide in their closets! ( a few sissy Karens in the suburbs but most people are so over this garbage!)
