Of course it’s a crime. But if local authorities refuse to prosecute, then people can tear down anything they like. President Trump has the authority to enforce the Federal law regarding statues and monuments on Federal property. I tend to agree, but maybe it’s a local/state/federal jurisdictional crime issue.

Believe it or not alot of federal agents have their hands tied by policy. Policy supercedes the law. Trump just overrid policies that would prevent a federal agent from making an arrest for this crime.
