Are you trying to defend slavery? Because there IS no defense. I am not in favor of reparations, but please don’t make it sound like American slavery was ok because it was worse somewhere else.
Nonsense. Slavery was an excepted part of the human condition for all of history, until people in Western Civilization, consisting mostly of white Christian men, decided to end it.
Everything has to be taken in historical context.
The fact that slaves in the territory which became the United States were treated better than elsewhere is completely appropriate.
The fact that slaves elsewhere hardly left any progeny, is completely appropriate to the discussion.
The fact that most of the relatives if the slaves which came to the territory which became the United States died before they did is completely worth noting.
