I’ve always looked at The Exodus from Egypt as the first “Screw you, we’re leaving” recorded in human history. Very American sentiment.

Ha, those born and bred 'egyptian', wanted to go back ... The Heavenly Father let them roam for 40 years before allowing them to get to the promise land ... even Moses let himself get the better of himself!!!!! Patterns of minds of men exposed eons ago.

God Himself chose Jews to point civilization to the “One True God,” yet He also pointed out numerous times that these rebellious folks had very “stiff necks” when it came to following His directions but it’s always up to Him to correct them when He needs to, though He has used despotic pagan leaders to do the job.
