Oh, please...Flimsey Tinkerbelle is god to no one! He gets renominated because of our stupid open primary system that lets Democrats vote for the Republican of their choice with no provision for runoffs.

Flimsey was heir apparent to the late Strom Thurmond’s Senate seat because the latter had been impressed with his performance in the House. I voted for him in 2002 and have voted against him ever since. He’s been in office almost eighteen years now and voters are reluctant to throw away all that seniority.

Tinkerbelle is a loose cannon in the Senate but we’re stuck with him. He does not in any way speak for the Republican majority in South Carolina.

Open primaries, and loading the ballot with republican also-rans is what keeps Linda in office.
